Thanks for visiting my site. I know I’m not alone in being a Substack refugee, after my account was suspended for somehow breaking their rules (not that they’ll tell me which post, or which rule I allegedly broke). But I wanted a place to host my thoughts, and I’d not really used my website for the best part of a decade, so I thought I’d transition over to here
I’m Martin, I’m a musician, and I work in a school in Eastern Europe, but was born and raised in the UK before spending 8 years in Hong Kong, and have travelled to (just) more countries than the years I’ve been alive. So I’ve seen many cultures, enjoyed many foods, experienced lots of living. And yet the place that felt most home, where my soul felt at peace, was in Estonia… somewhere I hope to return many times.
I’m going to be writing about many things here, initially porting my old articles across that I salvaged from Substack, but adding new content as I go. Some fiction, some personal reflection, some opinion, it’ll all find its home here. 2025 was a year of massive transition for me on many levels, some of which I’ll talk about. Among that was leaving Instagram and Facebook, so my socials now are Gram, BlueSky and of course YouTube.
