Too Much…

Too much stuff in our life. Too many emails. Too many clothes. Too many bills. Too many gadgets. Too many mugs. Too many cables in the junk drawer. Too many started and abandoned hobbies. Too much time spent scrolling social media. Too much reliance on what the media tells us. Too much driving. Too many random Amazon orders. Too much processed food. Too much shame.

Not enough space. Not enough time in nature. Not enough barefoot walking. Not enough reading for pleasure. Not enough fresh air. Not enough vitamin D. Not enough sunlight. Not enough time spent with loved ones. Not enough peace.

The way the world is, we can’t always change everything about life. But we can always strive to redress the balance. Downsize your wardrobe and give away the 50-80% that you probably never wear. Clear out the spices and condiments that have expired or you never use. Donate the books you’ve finished with and will never read again. Unsubscribe from all email lists. Give away or sell the abandoned hobby items. Arrange to meet a friend for coffee instead of spending another night in front of the TV. Buy that new book that you’ve been wanting to read for ages, or better still, borrow it from a friend or a library!

Which scene more represents you just now? And which would you rather be in?

You don’t have to make big changes. Think of it like compound interest. A 1% improvement every week = 67% improvement in a year. Baby steps matter!
