10 years ago, I’d been in a dark place for nearly a decade. Depression wracked my life, I suffered insomnia and regular migraines, I was massively overweight and unfit. It wasn’t until God reminded me that we should look after His temple, and that shame in His creation is a sin, that I truly started seeing a way out.
God created us in His image, without shame. The body shame that society and the church promotes is a new invention. It’s not biblical; rather, it is sinful. This simple truth changed my whole perspective on life, returned me to a path that I had been errantly persuaded away from years earlier, and opened me up to a renewed and deeper relationship with Christ
Whatever your age, whatever your battles, whatever your life circumstances, I know God has freed you from shame, and you can benefit from a healthier and more biblical relationship with your body and that of others. It changes how you view the world, those around you, and yourself, all for the better.
